What Is Autism?

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences.

We now know that there is not one autism but many types, caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences.

The term “spectrum” reflects the wide variation in challenges and strengths possessed by each person with autism.

What Is

Applied Behavior Analysis?

ABA helps to

Improve social and communication skills.

 Reduce challenging behaviors.

Teach new skills.

Generalize behavior and skills across settings and individuals.

 Focus on measuring and evaluating a child’s behavior.

This helps to improve how the child functions within the home and in the community.

Our Services

Behavior therapists work 1:1 with children with autism and/or developmental disabilities. Therapy is implemented in homes and community settings. Some children are learning how to talk while others are learning how to complete homework independently. Still others are learning to brush their teeth independently.

All programs are overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Our highly qualified staff enjoy working with children and making a positive difference. Our staff are reliable, enthusiastic, energetic, patient, and eager to teach you and your child.
